Day For It? is a client-side app that checks local weather and suggests either the park or the pub. The app calls a small set of third-party services directly from your browser to fetch weather, nearby venue data, and analytics information.

What We Use

• Browser geolocation to estimate your current latitude and longitude.
• Open-Meteo to fetch current weather conditions for that location.
• OpenStreetMap Overpass API to find nearby parks and pubs.
• ipapi.co to estimate your country for analytics-consent decisions.
• Google Analytics for basic site usage analytics.
• Google AdSense script resources for monetization readiness.

Location Data

Your browser may ask for location permission. If you deny it, the app falls back to Melbourne, Australia. Location data is processed in your browser and sent directly to the weather and venue lookup providers. We do not store it on our own servers.

Analytics and Consent

We use Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled. Visitors in the EEA/UK are shown a consent banner before analytics is enabled. If region detection fails, analytics remains disabled until you make a choice.

Your weather cache and analytics consent choice may be stored locally in localStorage.
